Aussie Buns
Soft buns with charred Sweet & Sour Pork Belly, pineapple & peppers.
An Aussie classic with a twist!
Serves 4
Ingredients
400g Sweet & Sour Pork Belly, thinly sliced - view product
4 soft white bread rolls
4 pineapple rings
100g sliced pickled red peppers
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup white sugar
Method
1. Heat the vinegar and sugar with 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan, bring to the boil and simmer to dissolve the sugar.
2. Place the sliced onion in a small bowl, pour over the pickling mix and set aside.
3. Heat a chargrill pan over med/ high heat and cook the pork belly slices until charred and cooked through. Set aside.
4. Add the pineapple rings to the hot pan and cook on both sides until lightly charred.
5. Slice the bread rolls in half and build the sandwiches with the pork belly slices, pineapple rings, peppers and drained pickled onion.
